Watertight modules are guaranteed by using a very advanced production method with the smallest possible number of production steps. Archimedes-type spiral-shaped flow channels provide a 100% reliable counter-current flow pattern to optimize the driving force for the process.
Flexibility, reliability, and efficiency, in one single elegant solution
The length of the flow channels can easily be adjusted based on temperature profiles and other thermal efficiency aspects desired by the customer. The design creates a self-insulating module with a minimum loss of heat to the environment. Specially designed headers guarantee uniform flow through the channels to avoid dead corners and maximize the use of membrane surface area. Spacers are optimized to promote turbulence, minimizing concentration and temperature polarization and maximizing fluxes. Self-degassing is made possible because the fluid enters the module at the bottom and leaves the module at the top, which also enables easy piping. Chemical resistance is guaranteed for most fluids by using only high-resistant plastic materials in the modules. With an empty weight of only 50 kg these modules are easy to handle, transport, and, if necessary, replace.
AQUA|STILL is constantly developing larger and more efficient modules for use in industrial MD applications. At present, we manufacture the largest AGMD module in the world, at 24 m². AQUA|STILL can provide modules with a membrane surface area –ranging from 1 to 120 m².
