AQUA|STILL produces state-of-the-art modules which must live up to a consistent high standard in order to guarantee an optimum MD process. Therefore we are continuously developing pilot plants to serve our customers. We develop this pilot system with a wide range of testing possibilities to suit the customer’s needs. The testing range can vary from a small membrane surface area of 3m 2 to a fully loaded demonstration unit with 150 m2 of membrane surface. This stand-alone unit can be operated automatically and safely due to a data logging system and automatic feed-and-bleed system.

Because of the chemical resistance of the materials, the pilot system is suitable for testing high-salinity brines at different temperature ranges. The unit is built on euro pallets with a maximum height of 1.6 m, which makes the pilot system suitable for transport by air. This pilot system can be used in either liquid gap membrane distillation (LGMD) or air gap membrane distillation (AGMD). This new development is the cutting edge of MD technology and marks a new standard in tomorrow’s desalination processes. Demonstrating this new inspiring technology on-site has never been easier thanks to the flexible and compact design.
